"I've been trying for years to get people to carry them (inclinometers) into the back country. It's the most important tool a skier can carry. I just finished digging out my 43rd avalanche victim. An inclinometer could have given them a warning." Doug Fesler, January 17, 2000 Director, Alaska Mountain Safety Center Dougs Book, "Snow Sense". is one of the very best for avalanche education.

SlopeDope
As more people head into the winter back country we hear of more deaths from avalanche, some are our friends.

Wilderness Engineering was asked by the Marine Corp to develop a tool for troops that would help them remember the one hour of avalanche training they receive. The Slope-Dope was designed with these parameters in mind.

The features are:
Accurate durable inclinometer, color coded to give an instant heads up.
A glass-magnifying lens to examine snow grain shapes
A thermometer to determine snow temperatures.
Straight edges to remove traction wax from ski bottoms.
Each corner is molded to fit a different shape ski groove to remove all the wax from your skis.
Map scales for kilometers and miles.
