U-MAX Freight Pulk Sled
U-MAX Freight Pulk Sled
The U-MAX exists for winter operations where longer loads, rigid cargo, or patient-support configurations demand a sled platform optimized specifically for length, stability, and load control. In expedition logistics, rescue scenarios, and professional winter operations, control and predictability matter more than speed or weight savings.
The extended hull length allows for better load distribution, improved downhill control, and reduced pitch when braking or traversing uneven terrain—making the U-MAX suitable for freight hauling, equipment transport, and patient-support configurations.
- 7.3-foot hull supports long or rigid loads, including stretchers and equipment cases
- Predictable tracking in variable snow and sidehill terrain
- XLPE construction for impact resistance and flexibility in extreme cold
- Designed for freight, rescue, and expedition logistics
- Modular compatibility with rigid tow poles and harness systems
- Stable platform for controlled downhill travel and braking
The U-MAX is suitable for expedition logistics, professional field operations, and equipment or personnel transport when configured appropriately. Its extended length and stable geometry make it well suited for winter travel scenarios where load control, predictability, and durability are critical.
The extended hull length allows the U-MAX to accommodate standard spine boards and other long, rigid equipment when configured appropriately, supporting patient-support and rescue logistics use cases.
The U-MAX is built around an extended XLPE sled hull designed to support long, rigid, or high-consequence loads while maintaining predictable tracking in variable winter terrain. The hull geometry prioritizes load distribution and stability, reducing pitch and oscillation when braking, descending, or traversing uneven snow.
Material selection and reinforcement are focused on durability and cold-weather performance rather than weight savings. Controlled flex in the hull allows the sled to absorb terrain irregularities without brittle failure, helping maintain structural integrity and consistent handling under heavy or shifting loads.
This construction approach is intended for professional, expedition, and rescue environments where equipment must perform reliably across long distances and changing snow conditions.
The U-MAX is designed to integrate with rigid pulk tow pole systems for improved tracking, control, and downhill stability when hauling heavy or sensitive loads. Rigid pole configurations help reduce fishtailing and provide more predictable handling in variable snow and terrain.
For mechanized use, the U-MAX is compatible with snowmobile tow configurations using a pintle-style hitch connection. Hitch type, tow geometry, and configuration should be selected based on load, terrain, and operational requirements.
Tow poles, harness systems, and hitch hardware are available separately. Contact Wilderness Engineering for current options and compatibility details.
